By the way, Freya must have gone to Country F for training. Who was taking care of Dani, then?
Rodney swiftly dialed Wendy's number. "Mom, have you visited Dani recently?"
"Yeah. I visited her just yesterday," Wendy replied.
"Freya has gone to Country F for a two-month training. Why didn't you take Dani home?"
"What? Freya has gone for training?" Wendy was astonished. "I didn't know."
"Didn't anyone from The Lodge inform you?" Rodney’s handsome face darkened.
"Your uncle and aunt have been very busy after the new year. I never saw them every time I went there.” Wendy said in surprise, "I was under the impression that Freya was at work during the day and would return home at night after work. I didn’t hear the news from Aunty Loretta, who looks after Dani. If I had known this earlier, I would've taken Dani home. How could I feel relieved having an outsider take care of Dani?"
Rodney instantly grasped the point. "Mom, it must be Freya who's deliberately hiding it from you. Perhaps she’s afraid that you won't return Dani to her once you
take Dani back to the old residence.”
Wendy frowned. If this had happened in the past, she would surely have criticized her son. On second thought, what Rodney said this time might be true.
Deep down, she felt bitter. "What do you mean? Am I that sort of person? After all, The Lodge isn't Dani’s home. Since Freya isn't around, Dani needs to be with her grandparents. How dare your uncle side with Freya and hide it from me?”
"Mom, please go and take Dani home.” Rodney said," Never mind the fact that Uncle Jason and Aunty Heidi are usually busy but they're not Dani's biological grandparents either. Anyway, we have someone to take care of Dani, whereas Freya just tasked the sitter t o take care of Dani. When Dani grows up, she might not be close to you and assumes that you don't love her.”
"Aww, how could that be? I’m very fond of her,” Wendy said with a sigh, "I'll go and take Dani here right now."
After Rodney hung up, many thoughts flashed across his mind.
In the end, he contacted his secretary. "Send a car over now. I’m going to Country F."
"Country F?" The secretary was momentarily stunned before he nodded in agreement.
