"Alright. Stop teasing her," Catherine joked, "Freya was just kidding. She wouldn't bring herself to break u p with you."
"Yes, that's right," Freya said quickly. "I was just bragging."
Catherine was speechless.
Her best friend had no guts at all. She looked at Freya’s careful expression. Freya’s words may sound nonchalant, but she actually cared a lot.
"Alright, you little bragger. Come and sit at the back with me." Ryan beckoned with his finger, and his mouth was curved into a doting smile.
"...Um, never mind. I’m too tired and lazy to move." Freya continued shrinking into her seat. She desperately wanted to bury herself in a hole.
Upon seeing that, Catherine started driving.
Since a man was in the back, the best friends' conversation became more conservative.
"By the way, Eliza said she wants to treat you to a meal and have a gathering when you're free." Catherine joked, "We know that you’re definitely not in the mood for that today."
"Yeah. I miss Dani a lot." Freya could not wait to be by Dani's side.
"I've brought Dani back to The Lodge," Ryan added.
"I wonder if that kid still remembers me." Freya was filled with excitement and anticipation.
Catherine hinted at Freya with a glance and pointed her lips toward the back.
Freya was stunned. Only then did she realize that she was neglecting the man behind her.
