Madam Jewell’s expression stiffened." Your dad used to have a good relationship with Toby. We can’t possibly steer clear of them the moment they get into trouble. He came to visit us back when you were in prison too. The Jewell family can't do that kind of thing."
"You two are so merciful," Chester mocked. “Look at what he did. You're a woman too, Mom."
"But Toby wasn't the one who did this," Madam Jewell said resignedly.
Chester could not be bothered to care about her. He started walking toward the reception room in long strides.
"It’s been a while, Chester." Toby stood up and held out his hand to Chester.
Chester did not even look at his hand, not to mention shake his hand.
Chester went to a sofa and sat down. "Why are you here, Uncle Toby? The Patterson family is detested by many now. There’s a crowd surrounding the hotel's entrance, wanting the hotel to provide an explanation, but here you are at my home. Dad, you must be muddled too. You actually dared to open the door for him. What if the reporters find out? Aren't you afraid they'll think that the Jewell family are accomplices of the Patterson family?'
Toby went stiff despite having already heard about Chester having a venomous mouth despite his handsome looks.
He finally experienced it first-hand.
"Watch your words," Hunter scolded angrily. "Your Uncle Toby and I have known each other for over 10 years."
Chester scoffed. "That was more than 10 years ago. I didn't see him helping us when Jewell Corporation was in a dire situation."
