Best Revenge: Being My Ex-Boyfriend’s Aunt novel Chapter 2861

After hanging up, Charity went after Chester.

Seemingly able to sense what she was going to do, Chester turned his head around and reminded her, “Don’t hold me. I must learn how to walk on my own.”

Charity’s long lashes fluttered impassively.

Was it because he had only himself to rely on in the future?

“No. Considering you’re so rich, you can hire a caretaker to wheel you around,” Charity said.

Chester gave a deep, self-deprecating laugh. “Caretakers have their own families and matters too. They can’t possibly accompany me all the time.”

Charity instantly fell quiet.

That seemed true.

Chester glanced sideways at her, his eyes filled with sadness. “Even Ken needs to get married and have children. How can he possibly stay by my side every day? No matter how much money I pay him, he can’t stand to be with a man like me all year long.”

Larissa could not bring herself to listen to it. “Don’t say that. You’re still young. You can get another partner. When you get married and have children, someone will look after you.”

“Forget it. Considering my state, I don’t want to trouble other people.”

Chester sighed. “Marrying someone and having children with her are meant to provide her with happiness, not have her look after a disabled person like me. Anyway, I still have my limbs. Once I learn how to walk on my own, I can get a prosthetic and live a good life.”

Charity threw a deep look at him.

Currently, a despondent look washed over Chester’s face.

She could not make out whether his expression was authentic.

However, given his state, he probably could not fake it.

Upon arriving at the ward, Ken had already cooked a botched attempt at spaghetti. The noodles were soggy and appeared burnt.

After seeing it, Larissa asked in surprise, “Can this be eaten? Will he get sick after eating it?”

Ken’s face reddened, and he felt helpless.

He did not mean to do it. It was the scheming Chester who told him to mess it up.
