In the middle of a snowstorm in a foreign country, Charity remained silent for a full two minutes. In the end, she let out a long sigh. “Forget it.”
“Forget it?” Catherine was shocked.
“I don’t have a boyfriend or a husband. I’m just spending money to buy an unknown sperm.” Charity turned her head back and looked toward Catherine with a serious expression. “The baby’s father’s identity isn’t important, and it doesn’t make a difference to me.”
Catherine stared at her for some time, stunned. She seemed to understand what Charity meant but not quite at the same time.
“So… You don’t mind even if you’re pregnant with Chester’s child?”
Charity put a hand into her pocket and held an umbrella with the other. “If he’s intent on changing the sperm, do you think I can avoid it by switching hospitals?”
Catherine was taken aback, but that made sense.
There used to be a ranking for doctors in Australia, and she remembered seeing Chester’s name on the top. She heard Chester’s medical skills were the top in the world and that Jewell Corporation would send many doctors to the top hospitals overseas for training every year. It was said that Chester was the one who opened up that path.
That meant that Chester’s connections in the medical world were worldwide.
Hence, it was unlikely that they could escape his watch by switching hospitals.
Charity said, “My only request is high-quality sperm. I don’t care about the rest.”
“I understand.”
Catherine nodded. However, she could not help but think when looking at Charity’s calm face whether the baby’s father really not important to her.
Or did Charity know everything from the beginning?
Charity just thought that was the best outcome for her and Chester.
It was not that they did not love each other, but they had missed the chance to be together on too many occasions.
If they could not get married and be by each other’s side, continuing their relationship with such a method would make up for the regret she felt.
At that moment, Catherine asked herself mentally, ‘Does Charity really have no feelings for Chester anymore?’
