“This is eye-opening.” Director Ashby sighed. “I’ve advised you numerous times, but nothing is as important as a woman’s words.”
“Duh.” Chester scoffed mercilessly. “Look at yourself. Considering your wrinkles, can you compare to Charity?”
Director Ashby’s heart clenched. “Do you think I wanted to do this? It’s all because we have a lot to worry about in the hospital.”
“However, you should know that I can’t work night shifts anymore. My body can’t take it.” Chester said impassively, “And I can’t perform surgery for the time being because I can’t stand for a long time.”
“That’s not a problem. Just be the mainstay of the hospital. No matter which part of the hospital you’re at, it’ll be a great help to us.” Director Ashby let out a sigh. “By the way, after you left this afternoon, your mom went to a hospital staff to find out about Larissa’s condition.”
“What is she planning to do?” Chester’s eyes narrowed.
“I don’t know. But the security guard said your mom and Cindy didn’t go up to disturb Larissa.” Deep down, Director Ashby was a little uneasy. “I don’t want to get involved in your family’s affair, so don’t drag me into it. I can’t afford to offend your dad… I’ve known him for over ten years. Sigh”
“I got it.”
Chester did not panic. Instead, he would play it by ear. He wanted to see what Hunter and his wife planned on doing.
…
The next day, Charity hurried to the hospital after feeding Cal.
Larissa’s surgery was not today, so Charity stayed in the hospital for an hour. Due to work-related problems, she had no choice but to head to the headquarters of Eagle Videos.
In the conference room of the office were a few large shareholders of Eagle Videos and Cindy.
“I’m sorry to have kept you waiting. I had something to deal with, so I was held up.”
