“Chester, where are you going?”
Charity leaped to her feet and went after him.
Then, she saw Chester’s hand placed on the paring knife on the coffee table.
Something suddenly came to her mind, and an unnameable fear overcame her. “Don’t…”
However, Chester could not hear her voice anymore. He lifted the knife and stabbed that part of his lower body.
He hated himself. What was done was done, yet Charity still found him filthy. Could he stand a chance of being with Charity if he lost that part? Would it mean that he could live with Charity and Cal? Would it also mean that Cal could officially call him… Dad?
In desperation, Charity subconsciously stretched out her hand to stop him.
In the process, the knife moved, and it sank into her flesh.
It hurt a lot. It hurt so much that she nearly suffocated, but it made Chester slightly more conscious.
Chester looked down, only to see a deep gash on the back of Charity’s hand, where blood was gushing out.
“Charity… Charity…” Chester was astounded. The paring knife in his hand fell onto the floor, and he bellowed, “Ken, hurry up and call an ambulance.”
Ken, who had been staying close to the door and waiting, heard Chester’s bellow and instantly rushed in. There was no romance in the house but only the smell of blood in the air. Also, Chester’s leg and Charity’s hand were covered with blood.
Chester gripped Charity’s hand like a madman, feeling guilty. He had forgotten that he was more severely injured than Charity.
As soon as the experienced Ken noticed what happened, he was dazed for two seconds before he hurriedly called an ambulance.
The ambulance swiftly sent the two of them to the hospital.
After they got into the ambulance, only one doctor was inside, so Chester pulled Charity to the front. “Please staunch the blood for her first.”
