Charity took the plate. “Have you eaten?”
“He hasn’t,” Larissa said while smiling. “Chester came over early to learn how to make breakfast for you. You should head over quickly and eat it.”
It was Charity’s first time eating breakfast that Chester made.
As she tasted a pancake, Chester looked toward her nervously. “Aunty Queenie made the batter. I just cooked the pancakes and added toppings–”
“You even added toppings. How luxurious.” Charity laughed. “It tastes good.”
Chester’s suspended heart finally returned to his chest. “What will you be doing today?”
“I haven’t been to the company for several days, so I have to go over today.” After Charity spoke, she saw Chester staring at her longingly. “Do you… have anything to say?”
“You can go, and I’ll accompany Cal at home. But… do you want to go watch a movie tonight?” Chester said, “I remember you used to like watching young romance movies–”
“That was so long ago. I’ve gotten bored of the plot.”
At that, Chester’s expression went stiff.
Charity blinked, wondering if she had said something wrong again.
“Um… I think there’s a popular movie in the cinema lately. Do you want to go and watch it?” Chester tried asking. “You’ve been quite tired recently and need some time to relax.”
“You should go.” Larissa walked over and overheard Chester’s words. “Chester’s right. You’re still young, Charity. Stop watching over us every day and living like a homebody. Young people should have their own activities. We’ll help you to take care of Cal.”
Charity thought Larissa had a point, so she agreed.
After breakfast, she went to the company.
There were quite a few company matters to handle since she had been absent for some time. There was also a reporter from a finance newspaper interviewing her about why she sold her shares of Eagle Videos.
