Charity hesitated for a few seconds before extending her hand. “I’ll help you there.”
“No. I’ll wear my prosthetic and go myself.” No matter how thick-skinned Chester was, he still felt embarrassed.
Besides, he could not trouble Charity too much. What if she thought he was a bother when they had just started dating?
“Forget it. Wearing the prosthetic takes so much time, and you’ll need time to take it off again later.” Charity flipped the blanket open and extended her hands to help him. “Stop wasting time. You were the one who wanted to cling to me. Are you going to refuse my help for your entire life?”
Her words were too straightforward.
Chester was speechless, but he eventually placed his arm on her shoulder and leaned against her to stand up.
Charity circled her arm around his waist and supported him.
Chester’s waist trembled.
He then quickly calmed down and secretly glanced at Charity. Seeing that she did not seem to notice it, he breathed a sigh of relief.
As soon as he got to the bathroom, Chester shut the door immediately. After all, he still had his image to maintain.
However, he had a fever and was feeling weak all over. When he was about to open the door after using the bathroom, he suddenly lost strength and fell.
He knocked over a shelf, chair, and basket in a hurry, which made a loud noise.
Charity, who had been waiting outside, was startled. Without caring so much, she quickly opened the door and went inside.
She saw Chester sprawled awkwardly on the ground with his pants still not on properly. His face was flushed red and filled with frustration. “I was careless. Just leave me be and go out.”
Seeing him like that, Charity could not describe the feeling in her heart. She felt bitter, pain, and slight discomfort.
