Charity gave birth to Cal after being pregnant with him for nine months, but why did he not look like her at all?
She was a little upset about that.
“I was saying that Cal should quickly grow up and be our flower boy,” Chester said honestly and shamelessly.
“In your dreams.” Charity crossed her arms and smiled at Chester. “What a naive dream.”
Chester’s face fell. “Why is it a dream? Charity, I’ve been thinking ahead since the day we got back together. We must have a wedding. I have to do it for you. Your best friends, Catherine and Freya, are getting married. Aren’t you envious at all?”
“What’s there to be envious about?” Charity said, “Weddings are so troublesome. We have to invite guests, host a reception, have a rehearsal on the wedding day, and swear to love you for my whole life in front of all family and friends. I’ve done too many wedding scenes when I was filming dramas. I’ve done historical and modern weddings twice or even thrice that I get nauseous reciting the vows.”
Chester was speechless.
Damn it. He forgot that Charity used to star in dramas. The male and female leads in the dramas would always have a wedding after getting together in the end.
“How can you say that? The groom wasn’t me. It’s different.” Chester insisted. “When we get married, you don’t have to prepare anything. I’ll take care of everything, and you just have to show up.”
Charity chuckled. “Is there a wedding that doesn’t require waking up before the sun rises to do your makeup? Doing hair and makeup takes so long. It’s meaningless. Actually, we should live a simple life without tiring ourselves and do whatever we want. Having a wedding and reciting vows doesn’t mean we’ll grow old together. Anyway, I’m not interested in having a wedding.”
After that, she glanced at sad Chester. “You might not understand my thoughts. Frankly speaking, I’ve died once and experienced death, so I don’t want to accommodate anyone anymore. If I want a wedding, I’ll say it when the time comes. If I don’t want it, it’s no use no matter how much you persuade me.”
“Okay. I understand. I won’t force you.”
Chester was slightly disappointed, but he told himself to be content. “Charity, will you consider getting a marriage certificate?”
