Billionaire's Naïve Lover novel Chapter 3

They both walked behind her as she showed them around the company. She was telling them everything in detail about the ins and outs of it. And they listened to her carefully and nodded their heads only asking a few questions in between.

“How is your father, Miss Fletcher?” Mr. Davis asked all of a sudden.-

Darcy was taken aback as to why he would ask about his father all of a sudden but answered his question. “Well, my dad is doing well. Do you know him?”

“No, but I have heard a lot about him from my dad. It seems they were childhood friends. His eyes were looking around observing everything very keenly.

“Really that’s a surprise, Is your father from around here? May I know your father’s name so that I can ask him if he is acquainted with him?” She asked curiously.

“You will soon know him, don’t be so curious Miss Fletcher and when he comes over I will personally take him to your house to see him. I hope you don’t mind.”

Darcy smiled a spoke happily. “Why would I? If they are old friends then it would be good for him as he has become quite lonely after my mother’s death last year and he hardly goes out and if he meets his old friends it would be therapeutic.”

“Good, even I want my dad to meet his old friends. So you must know the places around here really well? Since you have been born and bought up here?”

Darcy smiled and said. “ Yes, I know every detail about this city. Apart from going abroad for my studies for few years, I have lived here all my life. My great grandfather built this company and had been passed down to three-generation as a legacy to his children but now everything is over. I have to sell the company before its auctioned,”

There was silence for a while.

“You don’t have anyone who could take over the company and carry on the legacy.” He asked.

“Well my brother is very young and he had his own dreams he had to pursue, so he went abroad and so you see there is no one to carry on the legacy," Darcy said with sadness in her voice.

“But I heard he is the only son in the family, why would he not care about it?” Mr. Davis asked curiously.

Darcy was embarrassed and looked away from his probing gaze. “My brother never cared about the company. He tried his level best to learn everything from a scratch but he failed miserably. And we need a lot of finance to reestablish everything and we are already in heavy debt, so my father decided to sell it away.”

“But I can see that you are not willing to sell it, Miss Fletcher.” He said it very frankly.
