Bride Behind the Mask novel Chapter 182

Meanwhile, in the VIP suite.

Frederick sat beside Yuna who had just awakened. Seeing her stirring, Zoe subtly signaled to her husband Ablett, and they tactfully left the room, giving the couple some space.

Seeing their intention, Yuna quickly clung to Frederick, her sobs coming in uncontrollable waves. "Freddie, I thought I was never going to see you again. Promise me you won't leave me, okay?"

Frederick looked at her, his face unusually stern. "If that's the case, why did you try to kill yourself?"

Yuna bit her lip in sorrow. "I...I thought you didn't love me anymore. I was so heartbroken, I didn't want to live. But as soon as I swallowed the pills, I regretted it. I can't live without you, Freddie."

His heart was swelling with resentment.

The more Yuna acted so pitifully, the more he found himself repulsed by her.

Love was supposed to be a natural thing. Even though he knew he didn't love her, he had made a promise, and he intended to keep it. But this woman was always so impatient. He hadn't even ended things with Marguerite yet, and she was already eager to take her place.

As if all the horrible things she'd done weren't enough, now she was threatening him with her life. This was nothing less than blackmail!

Frederick was so angry he wished this woman would just disappear forever! But because of what happened fifteen years ago, he once again chose to compromise and forgive.

He pulled a photo from his pocket and handed it to Yuna, his voice flat. "The owner called this morning but couldn't get through. I had someone pick this up for you."

Yuna was startled. What owner? What call? She didn't understand any of this.

And what was in this envelope?

Frederick turned to get Yuna a glass of water, and she quickly pulled the photos out of the envelope. She looked down.

She gasped. Wasn't this a photo of Marguerite and Frederick?
