Bride Behind the Mask novel Chapter 191

An engagement ring? No, it should be a wedding ring.

Marguerite lifted her gaze to the enormous diamond that Yuna held in her hand, sparkling like a beacon under the chandelier's glow.

Isn't life just so unfair?

The bad people, who had done her wrong in the past, was now flourishing.

In contrast, Marguerite was battered and bruised, and in ten months, she would be a single mother.

Marguerite felt a sting in her eyes, followed by some unexplainable tears.

Turning her gaze away quickly, she muttered in a tone that not even she recognized as her own, "What a coincidence..."

The man in front of her didn't say anything, nor did he offer any explanation about the ring. Instead, he observed Marguerite with keen interest, studying the emotions on her face.

Indeed, he finally noticed a flicker of emotion on her pale cheeks. The next second, he quietly extricated his arm from Yuna's, his face betraying no emotion.

"Let's look around elsewhere." Marguerite left those stiff words behind before turning and hurrying away, with Miley in tow.

"Marguerite, what are you doing? The enemy is at your doorstep, and you're not going to fight back? The ring! Didn't you see the ring on Yuna's finger? What right did Mr. Winston have to buy her a diamond ring?"

Miley scolded Marguerite while being dragged into the center of the hall. Seeing Marguerite's lack of response, Miley continued, "This won't do! I have to go back and give them a piece of my mind. This is infuriating!"

Marguerite stopped Miley before she could leave, "Enough, just let them be. I'm really tired."

"Marguerite, I just can't stand seeing you being bullied!"

"It's just a ring, how am I being bullied? Aren't I standing right in front of you?"
