Marguerite didn't let Lisette's harsh words get to her.
She was well aware of the confidence behind Lisette's words. After all, Maurice had returned to the country with force, and Powell had funded his new company with billions. This was indeed her time to shine.
But Lisette was becoming too arrogant.
Lisette seemed oblivious to the fact that Frederick was at the helm of the Winston Group, and LuxeScents International was just a branch of it. Even if Polar Radiance perfume couldn't hit the market, his real estate, IT, tourism businesses...weren't they all top-notch?
Not long after Lisette left, Garnett's secretary invited Marguerite and Hannah in.
Garnett was a middle-aged man, perhaps in his early forties. He was the epitome of success.
"Hello, Mr. Garnett. I'm Marguerite, the project manager for Polar Radiance perfume."
Garnett got Marguerite a cup of coffee with a hearty laugh.
"Polar Radiance perfume, yes, I remember! When you launched it, our offline reservation system crashed from the demand. It's a pity, though, Mr. Winston withdrew from the warehouse, which led to a lot of complaints from customers. Such a waste."
Marguerite held the cup with both hands, not drinking. It was her first time negotiating a deal and, although nervous, her demeanor was nothing but sincere.
"Mr. Garnett, LuxeScents International plans to re-launch Polar Radiance. We have a loyal customer base from the past, and this deal is a sure win."
Garnett chuckled, but there was mischief in his eyes.
"Unfortunately, Marguerite, we were unaware of your plans to re-launch the perfume. Before you approached us, we had already rented the space to a perfume company called Fragrance Finesse. Let's talk about our collaboration another time."
"Fragrance Finesse?"
Marguerite was familiar with all the perfume companies in the country, but she never heard of a company called Fragrance Finesse.
Could it be a newly established brand? If so, it made Marguerite even more puzzled.
LuxeScents International ruled the perfume industry. If Grandeur Square Mall wanted to make money, it made no sense to ditch LuxeScents International for a startup.
"You haven't heard? Fragrance Finesse is owned by Mr. Winston's elder brother, Maurice, under the name of the Winston Group."
Fragrance Finesse was the company Maurice set up? But the Winston Group already had a perfume company. Maurice registering another one of the same type was a clear sign of his intention to completely eliminate Frederick's position in the perfume industry.
