Bride Behind the Mask novel Chapter 717

With a sudden "clunk," the paintbrush unexpectedly tumbled to the floor.

Just then, Hayes dashed in to call Teresa down for breakfast.

But upon entering the bedroom, he found Teresa staring wide-eyed at her easel, frozen in place as if spellbound, completely motionless.

The little guy hurried over and asked, "Teresa, what's wrong... You look pale, are you feeling alright?"

Teresa turned her head towards Hayes like a robot, looking at him blankly without uttering a word.

This only deepened Hayes's confusion.

His gaze involuntarily flicked to the easel, and he paused for a moment before pointing out curiously, "Teresa, why... why are you painting me?"

"Little Mute, I wasn't painting you."

Hayes leaned in closer for a better look, "But the person in this painting... it's me!"

Teresa stiffened, "Little Mute, I was drawing a brother based on a photo of Mom and Dad, and he looks exactly like you!"

In a flash, Hayes's mouth dropped open in shock, taking a long while to grasp the reality.

"I... could I really be your brother?"

This revelation thrilled Hayes to no end.

If he was Teresa's brother, didn't that mean Ms. Marguerite was actually his real mom?

But then he quickly thought of Manley and grabbed Teresa's arm in a rush, "Are you sure you didn't get it wrong?"
