Seeing Margie bored to tears, Sandra chimed in, "Margot, how about I take you downtown later to pick out a dress and maybe stroll around a bit? What do you say?"

Margie felt trapped.

Ian clapped Sandra on the back, jokingly reminding her, "My dear, you're overstepping. Let the lovebirds have their moment. What do you call it in your country? A third wheel?"

Ian's attempt at English, especially the term "third wheel," came out hilariously accented.

Margie almost burst into laughter.

Sandra, taking her husband's hint, appeared a bit embarrassed and quickly waved her hands, winking at Margie, "Look at me, all muddled. If Margot and Fred want some alone time, who am I to interfere?

Just make sure to come back early in the afternoon. You're family now, and we need to welcome our guests together at the party."

Margie quickly agreed.
