Bride Behind the Mask novel Chapter 782

Maggie's reaction was swift, her disbelief skyrocketing into a loud exclamation:

"Everything that should and shouldn't have happened, happened?"

"Yes."

"That’s impossible!"

"Why is it impossible? Moreover, it was quite intense."

Suddenly, guilt surged within her heart.

Maggie felt she had betrayed Fred, uncontrollably rising to her feet and, with a swift motion, slapped Silas across the face.

"Scoundrel!"

Breathing heavily, her gaze upon him was fiery with rage.

Yet, inexplicably, she didn't see a trace of anger on his face. Instead, his eyes conveyed an indescribable pain.

His pain made Maggie feel sorrowful, and she always seemed to find a glimpse of Fred in his eyes.

Though it was only the eyes that resembled Fred's, Maggie couldn't help but feel as if Fred was right there with her.

And so, as she kept looking, she started to question herself - should she have not hit him?

This conflicted emotion frustrated Maggie, leaving her no choice but to sit back down on the bed, turning her back to him.

Silas took a couple of steps closer to Maggie, seemingly wanting to touch the top of her head as one would pet a cat.

Yet, he managed to restrain this desire deep down.

"It was you who initiated it, and you who slapped me. What do you have to be angry about?"

"I initiated?" Maggie turned around, disbelief painted all over her face. "What did I even do?"

Silas chuckled, "You called me 'honey'."

Maggie: "???"
