Chapter 105
“You heard her? This bitch wanted me to apologize to that hotel employee…” Betty cackled. “Did you hit your head or something?”
When Betty threw her head back laughing, her two plastic girlfriends were laughing hysterically
as well.
“Why couldn’t Betty complain as a hotel guest? Her necklace was broken. And she received crappy service.”
“That’s right! How dare you ask for an apology? Do you own the hotel? There’s no end to this.”
Sean squinted at the ladies. He believed the two dumb women would frantically take back their words when they found out that Alyssa owned all the KS Grand Hotel branches in the country.
“Aren’t you worried that this incident might ruin the image of Beckett Group that Jasper has carefully maintained? You might bring shame to the company.” Alyssa carelessly stared at Betty.
“Hmph! Don’t you dare threaten me. I’m not the president of the company. Why would I care?” Unbothered, Betty rolled her eyes.
Betty continued, “It’s Jasper’s job as the president to take on the risks and handle any scandals. What else would he do in that role? He should have something to show after Dad made him the president!”
The store employees were dumbfounded by Betty’s remark. Alyssa couldn’t help but chuckle. The Beckett family appeared loving, but they secretly took advantage of each other and hatched their plans. 1
Betty had always looked down on Jasper. To Sophia and Betty, Jasper was nothing but a tool to clean up their mess. They might yield to him on the surface, but they secretly viewed him in
disdain.
Alyssa had seen through the tricks of the Beckett family when she first married Jasper. She wouldn’t have tolerated living with the Becketts that was all show had she not hopelessly fallen in love with Jasper.
“Ms. Betty, you should at least think of your image, if not the company’s.”
“Stop threatening me! Alice White, I’m not afraid of you, even if you have Mr. Jonah’s backing. Us Becketts are not pushovers!”
Betty put her hand on her waist like a bitch. “Where’s security? Kick this country bumpkin out! She has lowered the class of our store!”
