Chapter 541

Jasper didn’t have a choice. The men surrounding Alyssa were all distinguished in their own right. Now,

he had another Taylor sibling to worry about-Liam, the young colonel.

“Lyse, he didn’t do anything to you, did he?” Liam held Alyssa’s shoulders and examined her from head to

toe.

“I’m fine! Let’s leave, Liam,” suggested Alyssa. She tried to drag Liam away, worried that war would break

out between Liam and Jasper at any second.

To her dismay, her worst fear came true.

Liam addressed the others coldly, “Jonah, Sean, please leave with Alyssa. I’ll join you shortly.”

“Liam!” Alyssa called out to him, her tone tinged with concern. She knitted her brows.

“Lyse, let’s go.” Jonah wrapped an arm across her shoulder and gave Jasper a knowing look.

He then whispered in Alyssa’s ear, “You know Liam is the calmest and the gentlest of all, don’t you? Don’t

worry. He knows where to draw the line.”

She let out a sigh and left with Jonah. After all, it was unlikely that anything serious would happen

between Liam and Jasper in a hospital setting.

Jasper’s intense gaze followed Alyssa on her way out and lingered until the door was closed.

Suddenly, he recalled that she hadn’t had breakfast. He was about to pick up the food container from the

table when Liam pressed it back down.

Their gazes locked, and tension hung in the air.

“I’ll send her breakfast. She hasn’t had anything,” Jasper remarked icily.

“You don’t have to. I’m worried she might suffer after eating food from a massive jerk,” Liam retorted with

a chuckle.

Liam continued, “Trying to win her back with pity and sweet talk, are you? You’re the one who caused her suffering! Do you take her for a puppy that can be lured with a treat? You think too highly of yourself.”

“I was in the wrong. From now on, I’ll give my best and treat her well,” Jasper admitted. He glared at Liam

and attempted to retrieve the food container,

if he remembered correctly, Alyssa always had digestive issues. Even now, he felt a pang of guilt thinking about her curling up in pain on the couch from gastric distress at the charity auction event.

Liam scoffed. “Hmph, I’d never believe in a word you say!” Then, he suddenly lifted a hand and knocked

over the container.

Before Jasper could react, Liam swiftly tossed the second container onto the ground, sending plates crashing and food scattering across the floor.

Liam’s actions greatly wounded Jasper.

Liam spat, “Stay away from my sister. Consider this my last warning.”

He pointed a finger at Jasper’s pale face and added, “Or you’ll end up like the mess on the floor!”

Jasper closed his eyes and took a deep breath. There was a murderous look in his eyes when he

reopened his eyes.

He declared, “I will not give up on her. I have decided that she’s the one for me. I love her, and I want to be with her. Even if everyone is against my decision and the Taylor family tries to sabotage me, I will not

waver.”

Liam was jumping in anger at Jasper’s audacity. Soon, he burst into a mocking laughter.

“Did you think the Taylor family could stand in your way? We tried to talk Lyse out of marrying you, but she

went ahead anyway.
