Chapter 543

“Silas, let go! You’re going to suffocate Lyse,” exclaimed Liam.

Then, he hurriedly pried Alyssa from Silas’ grip when he noticed Alyssa’s eyes bulging and her tongue

hanging out.

“Tsk tsk. How interesting! I’ve only heard of lovers dying for each other, never between a brother and

sister!” Cyrus joked and shoved a piece of grilled chicken into his mouth.

Tatiana covered her mouth and snorted. She had always been quiet around her older brothers, but she

nearly spat her drink at that moment after hearing Cyrus’ words.

Jonah feared that Tatiana would choke and pat her on the back. He teased, “Silas, stop fooling around

with Lyse. She’s gone through enough.”

“You really don’t know me, do you? I’m just concerned about her!” Silas retorted. He refused to let go of

Alyssa’s hand despite Liam having taken her away. The family gathering looked more like a telenovela.

“By the way, did you receive any award for that woman you courageously saved?” Cyrus asked in curiosity.

“I fainted after saving her and falling. I don’t recall what happened later,” Alyssa answered with an

unbothered shrug. She went on eating the shrimp that Liam peeled for her.

“They awarded her a gold lifesaving medal,” Jonah chimed in as he gracefully wiped his lips with a napkin.

Everyone was surprised by the update. Alyssa looked up in shock, her mouth stuffed with shrimp. “Huh?”

“I shared my contact information with Elias Parker from the Park Ranger Corps. He reached out to me

and informed me that the female hiker you rescued went to him in a wheelchair, along with her family.

They would like to award you a medal and thank you in person.

“Too bad they had no idea about your name. They kept referring to you as the ‘kind angel.””

“Wait, you called Mr. Parker? Wouldn’t that-”

*Indeed. He and Mr. Forrest, whom you hold in high regard, now know your identity,” replied Jonah with a

disgruntled look.

Jonah continued, “Surprisingly, they weren’t overly shocked by the revelation. They did, however, remind

me to take good care of you!

“They mentioned that you’ve made substantial donations to Crater Mountain Park. Mr. Parker has

safeguarded these contributions in a public trust.

“You don’t have to make any donations because they have enough to last for generations. They appreciate your kindness, and they hope you quit volunteering for the sake of your personal safety.”

“Gosh, Jonah…” Alyssa grumbled and set down the shrimp she had been holding.

Jonah sighed helplessly. “Lyse, your family background is not meant to be a secret. In fact, we don’t want

it to remain hidden. You’re a precious daughter and sister.

“While it’s true that some members of the public have now become aware of you, it’s only a matter of

time before you have to present yourself to the public, especially when you eventually take over my role.

It’s time to shift your perspective.”
