Bella's first instinct was to snatch the menu from Lia's hands to hide her face. Wasn't Dominic supposed to be out of Joville? If he saw her dining with Felix, he would probably go crazy!
Lia also noticed them and said, "Hiding your face isn't going to help. With Felix's obvious presence, they'd recognize you even if you only showed one foot."
Reluctantly, Bella put the menu down, locking eyes with Dominic. He had been laughing with Victor, but his expression instantly shifted to a stern warning. Just as quickly, he returned to his usual demeanor and headed upstairs to the private room.
Bella couldn't help but feel a bit helpless. After finally managing to get out for a meal, she ran into him. Of all things, Lia had to invite Felix along… Fate wasn't on her side today.
Felix joked, "If I weren't here, you wouldn't have needed to hide."
Bella brushed a strand of hair from her forehead. "It's not your fault... We're just having a meal. It's not like we're doing anything wrong. I have the freedom to socialize!"
She was bullshitting. She was afraid she would trip over her words saying that.
Aside from that one warning glance, Dominic remained quiet. At that moment, Bella slowly relaxed.
He was at the dinner table now and probably wouldn't have time to pay attention to her.
After they finished eating, Bella urged Lia and Felix to move somewhere else. Wherever Dominic was, trouble was sure to follow!
Felix had to get back to work in the afternoon, so the three of them found a café to sit and chat.
It had been a while since they last met, and Bella brought up Felix's health. "Have you had your check-up yet? What happened last time was pretty scary. You're still young, so you need to take those old problems seriously."
Lia was not fully aware of Felix's situation. She asked, "What illness? Is it serious?"
