Crushed Affections (Dominic and Bella) novel Chapter 370

Bella felt a deep fatigue spreading from her heart, draining her of the energy to deal with Dominic's relentless possessiveness. She decided to go along with his words. "Yes, I can't stand it anymore. That's why I don't want to keep this going.

"If that's what you think, then fine. I regret ever getting involved with you. Isn't it better to just end it like this? Why are you doing this anyway? To make yourself miserable, or just to punish me?"

Her sharp, final words didn't lead to another heated argument. Instead, Dominic just turned and left, the sound of the front door slamming echoing painfully in her chest.

She had thought this was the outcome she wanted—no more entanglement, each of them going their own way. But that night, she couldn't sleep.

The next morning, she woke up with dark circles under her eyes. She stared blankly at her weary face in the mirror for a long time. And strangely, she felt a sense of relief.

People always said that after 25, women started to show signs of aging. Her fragile heart, like her face, couldn't take any more of this wear and tear. She didn't have time to waste on a man who would only lead her down a dead-end road.

She quickly put on a face mask, managing to restore a bit of color. After getting ready to leave, she was surprised to run into Wesley in the hallway.

Unlike most people his age, Wesley didn't seem lazy or aimless. He was always up early and out the door.

Bella gave him a nod in greeting, though her mood was still sour. It showed on her face.

Wesley seemed to pick up on it. Once they were in the elevator, he asked, "You fought with your boyfriend, didn't you? I heard the door slam pretty hard when he left last night. Was it because of me?"

Bella shook her head. "What does a kid like you have to do with it? He and I have been fighting for a while now."

And after this… there probably wouldn't be any more fights.

Knowing Dominic's pride, he'd never come back after storming out like that. As long as she didn't reach out, it was truly over. She could feel it.

Wesley looked annoyed at her choice of words. "A kid? Please, I'm an adult. My first girlfriend was a year older than you."
