Dominic smiled slightly but didn't say anything.
Bella found his expression odd and asked, "What's the matter? Are you concerned about the baby's gender? I'm not planning to let the child inherit your family's business. This is my child. It's irrelevant whether they're a boy or a girl."
His expression returned to its usual indifference. "Even when you're eating, you can't stop talking. I don't care if they're a boy or a girl."
She pursed her lips and thought that powerful families like his definitely preferred sons. However, she didn't want her child involved in such matters. He seemed to believe she was having a baby just to secure his money.
When she was nearly full, Bella realized she hadn't brought any money, meaning he had to pay the bill.
Dominic hadn't eaten anything, so she picked up some meat and handed it to him to make it seem more natural for him to pay. "You should eat too."
"I don't eat that. You can have it." He leaned back slightly.
She continued taunting him, "Oh, I see that the big CEO can't eat ordinary food. Your precious little one in my belly sure seems to like it. Your child is eating, and you're just sitting there?"
No matter what she said, he refused to take a bite. Hence, she became stubborn and determined to break his resistance.
Bella put down the meat and said, "Fine, then I won't eat either. We shall just let your child starve."
Dominic sighed gently before giving in. He grabbed the meat and took a mouthful. "You're pregnant, so you get to be cocky."
She couldn't help smiling. She felt strangely pampered even though she knew he was doing it for the child. Nonetheless, she believed she had won.
