Carla threw Yelena over her shoulder, causing the latter to let out a shrill scream, embarrassing herself in the process.
A security guard rushed over. Perhaps the last incident at the police station had frightened them, as the Klein sisters were much more subdued this time.
They immediately apologized and begged for forgiveness, acting pitifully as if they had been bullied. The onlookers around them began murmuring amongst themselves.
Quickly assessing the situation, the security guard noticed that Bella was the recently announced "Mrs. Miller".
Looking at her pregnant belly, he respectfully asked, "Mrs. Miller, would you like us to report this incident to the police?"
Bella glanced at the time. She didn't have the energy to deal with the Klein sisters. Moreover, Yelena had already been thrown hard enough by Carla, and it wasn't like Yelena wasn't hurt.
Deciding to let it go, Bella took a step back, packed up the desserts she'd ordered, and left, as staying there to eat was no longer an option.
Although the Klein sisters' actions did not physically harm Bella, they left a psychological scar.
It felt like a ticking time bomb had been planted in her mind, ready to explode at any moment. If nothing else, it served as a wake-up call.
Yelena wasn't entirely wrong either. As long as Dominic did not marry her, she would remain in the shadows. The current peace she had now was just an illusion.
Bella had once been indifferent to things like status and reputation, but with a child on the way, she couldn't afford to let history repeat itself. She didn't want her child to grow up being called names like "bastard" or "illegitimate".
Previously, when nothing had been made public, Bella could keep things under wraps.
Now that everyone knew, things had spiraled out of her control. Escaping from Dominic with her child was no longer an option. Her only way out of her mess was to find a way to force Dominic to marry her.
The problem was that everything she had done until now contradicted what she needed. She would need to go against her instincts and true feelings. She had been hesitant, but a timely kick from the baby in her belly tipped the scales in her heart.
By the time she got home, Bella had already made up her mind. As she walked through the door, she instructed Carla, "Can you ask Dominic if he's coming home for dinner tonight?"
