Ian scowled, once again finding this woman to be incredibly meticulous in her speech.

"Uh huh."

Maja let out a sigh of relief, touched by his lack of unnecessary difficulties.

"Alright, I'll be there on time."

After spraying some painkillers, the pain in her ankle eased somewhat. She tidied up the first aid kit and put it back in the cabinet at the entrance.

As she closed the door, she added,

"Mr. Raymond, you should get some rest."

Ian's face instantly became colder, not quite sure what he was feeling, just a certain discomfort.

He loosened his tie, as if that would help dispel the strange emotions.

But the movement of untying his tie pulled at the wound on his palm, causing him to wince slightly.

She was just a woman he barely knew, there was no need for him to care.

Maja didn't pay any mind to what Ian thought, she had to rush to Crystalbrook Valley to deal with Daly's situation.

What annoyed her was that Leo wasn't there waiting for her.

Maja was furious, but she was helpless against her good-for-nothing cousin.

She spent a day in Crystalbrook Valley comforting Susan, saying that Olivia would be out in a few days, and paid enough money at the hospital. Only after Daly was stabilized, did she drag her tired body back to Rosewood Manor in Greenfield.

But she still owed Ian a lot of money, which she had to repay within a week.

Maja didn't have time to rest. Seeing that it was already six in the evening, she started cooking.

But she was so tired that she almost cut herself while chopping a papaya.

Maria watched in horror.

"Ms. Pennyfeather, whatever you want to do, just tell me, I'll help."

Maja was so sleepy she could hardly keep her eyes open, so she had to let go of the knife.

"Maria, please."

Although she promised Ian she would cook for him, she had been up all night and drove back alone today. She could fall asleep standing up.

What's more, Susan cried all night in front of her, crying until she had a headache. In the end, Daly came out of the emergency room and cried together. Maja was helpless and exhausted, and didn't have the heart to tell them that she had run into Leo.

She didn't want to upset them further by letting them know their son didn't care about them.
