As Jeff recalled the scene he just saw, he responded hastily in shock, "I'll look her up right away...."

Ian tightly closed his lips and his eyebrows furrowed. He guessed that it was a trap. Leading him to look for her was probably the plan.

"No need."

If she planned this carefully, what had happened definitely would happen again.

Maja hurried back to her apartment, took a long shower, and then flopped onto her bed. Closing her eyes, her mind was filled with that man. At first, she couldn't adjust to his lustful and erotic action. Until later, the extreme fear pierced her bones.

Truth be told, her first time was with Ian. It wasn’t hard for her to accept this, except she had heard another woman's name from his mouth.

Maja turned over and still felt uncomfortable. She got up and opened the drawer. Inside was their marriage certificate.

When they registered for marriage, Ian did not show up, but her dad found a way for her to complete the registration process alone.

This was the first time she had taken a serious look at this marriage certificate. After just one glance, she put the thing back and got ready to go see Tricia.

She drove to the hospital. It just so happened to be noon, and the nurses had gone to lunch.

Tricia, who was resting, looked up to see Maja. Her pale face was filled with surprise, and she sat up immediately.

"Maja, why are you here?"

She still looked a bit sickly, but her mood wasn't too bad. "Is dad worrying too much again? I already told him I'm fine, and specifically asked him not to tell you."

Maja sat by the bed and handed over a cup of warm water. "Dad is indeed very worried about you."

Tricia had been sick since childhood. When it was severe, she would pant after just a few steps and often needed to be hospitalized. For this reason, Neil was especially fond of her.

"I really hate being in the hospital. Mom is always by my side, and I can't eat anything I want." Tricia said pitifully, "These past few days, I've heard the nurses discussing a new fruit milkshake shop nearby, and I've been drooling about it."

She grabbed Maja's hand. "You're the best. I'm being discharged today, so a little taste wouldn’t hurt."

Tricia's eyes widened excitedly, like an innocent kitten. Maja couldn't refuse and went downstairs to buy a milkshake.

"You can only taste it, not swallow it." After reminding her repeatedly, Maja was about to feed her when Cristina’s voice came from the door.

"What are you doing?"

Cristina looked both surprised and angry as she strode over, snatched the drink from Maja's hand, and threw it in the nearby trash can. "Are you trying to kill your sister while I'm not here? I knew you were up to no good!"
