The guy had a smile on his face, all suited up, and easy on the eyes. But there was something about his gaze that put Maja on edge.

She handed Tricia's medicine to him, expressionless.-

"I've already visited her, just give the meds to Cristina."

Glenn raised an eyebrow, "Let's go up together; it's been a while since we last caught up."

"I've got stuff to do," Maja said, handing over the meds and immediately making a beeline for the exit.

Glenn watched her go. He had a meaningful look in his eyes, and couldn't resist sniffing the bag of meds.

A beautiful young woman showed up at the gynecologist with antibiotics and antivirals... it was hard not to jump to conclusions.

Glenn lowered his gaze, clenching the bag of meds tightly. Who would've thought Maja, who was always so aloof, could pull something so scandalous?

After all, her husband had been out of the picture for three years - a woman home alone was bound to stray.

But he was in no rush. She would come back to the Pennyfeathers eventually. He had plenty of time.

As Maja got into her car, she was still feeling a bit down.

Ever since the family of three moved in, including Glenn, who was not related to Maja by blood, their constant encounters made her feel somewhat uncomfortable. Her father had tried to persuade her to stay, but hesitated when she hinted at Glenn moving out.

Neil felt that he owed Cristina and her daughter Tricia, so he was very indulgent with Glenn. Maja didn't want to put him in an awkward position, and she chose to move out. Now, she felt more like a stranger in her own home.

She didn't need to clock in at the studio but on her way home, her phone started to ring. Seeing the name flashing on the screen, her mood worsened.

The ringing didn't stop. Maja took a deep breath and answered the call.

"Hello, Ms. Casson."

The caller was Selena Casson, Ian's biological mother.

From the day Maja married Ian, her hoity-toity mother-in-law had always been dissatisfied with her. Maja was well aware of this, so apart from putting on a show for the elders, she kept her distance from the Raymonds.

"I need you to come to the Raymond residence. We need to discuss your divorce."

Selena didn't mince her words. Afraid of Maja's refusal, she even took the initiative to say, "Maja, you should know, we only agreed to your marriage because we couldn't go against the old man's wishes. Now that Ian has taken over Raymond Group, he has the controlling power. The old man will probably give up his stubbornness now."

She meant that the divorce was inevitable.

Selena imagined Maja causing a scene, refusing to agree. After all, what woman would willingly give up being the legal wife of her son?

Even if they never got his love, just being able to talk to him more would be enough.

But Maja's response was neutral, "Alright, should I come over now?"

She didn't even question it, she seemed very calm. Like she had been waiting for this day.

Selena felt uneasy. It was only right that the Raymond family kicked Maja out, but her indifferent reaction made her feel like her son wasn't charming enough.

For her own comfort, she said coldly, "As long as you agree, that's all that matters. You and Ian are not a good match, he deserves a better woman. Come over right away, I've already called Ian, he'll be there soon."

Maja paused, Ian was coming too?

If he knew that the person he spent the night entwined with was his soon-to-be ex-wife, what would his reaction be?

He was such a prideful man. He might feel nauseous, like he swallowed a bug and was unable to spit it out.

Maja chuckled lightly, turning towards the Raymond mansion.

When Selena saw her, her attitude was unpleasant, but since Maja didn't demand compensation, she didn't make things difficult for her.

"Don't mind me being blunt. You’re well aware of your family's situation. I'm not afraid to tell you, you'd better advise your father, if he's not good at business, he should face reality sooner. The Raymonds can help him once, but not again. Not to mention, your stepmother's been constantly interfering. Marrying you has no benefits, and we have to take care of your extended family. It's a burden. Even ham has to be from a good place, you can only blame your poor background."

Sitting on the sofa, Maja agreed, "Yes, I'm indeed not worthy to be Mr. Raymond's wife."

In reality, besides the marriage certificate, they were no different from strangers, just bound by an agreement.

Divorce would be a relief for her.

Selena felt a sense of defeat, like she had hit cotton. And for a moment she couldn't tell if the woman in front of her was acting or truly didn't care.

The sound of car brakes came from outside. The servant waiting outside saw Ian's car stop and hurried in to report, "Ma'am, mister Ian is back!"

Selena stood up happily and rushed outside.

Maja also looked towards the door. Even though she was prepared to face Ian, she felt suddenly nervous inside.
