Ian's face went dark right away. His first instinct was to slam the door shut.

But Tricia was quick, sticking out her hand and pleading.

"Mr. Raymond, I bumped into the manager downstairs. Are you hurt? I mean no harm. I just want to check on you."

She already had the inside scoop on which floor Ian was staying.

There were two presidential suites on this floor, and she was staying next door tonight.

She could almost taste the sweetness in the air, just thinking about sharing the same building and perhaps even the same pillows with him.

Tricia got an earful from Maja in the morning, but she quickly caught on to what she meant.

Maja would never forgive this man if he was disrespectful to the Pennyfeather family.

But she was different, she didn't care how Ian treated the Pennyfeather family.

She was just into Ian.

Tricia coughed a couple of times.

"Mr. Raymond, someone needs to help you apply that ointment. I'm worried you won't be able to reach the wound."

Ian just stared at her. Her purposely low-cut dress, her subtle makeup, and her barely-there coat, which under the hallway light was basically see-through.

Tricia kept her hand on the door to stop him from closing it.

The way she looked at Ian, it was pretty much blatant.

If both parties were willing, things could be really simple.

But Ian just smirked. He seemed to think she bought the ointment and just tossed it out.

"Get lost."

His words were merciless, like a sharp knife piercing straight into Tricia's heart.

Tricia's face went pale instantly. She hurriedly withdrew her hand.

A few seconds later and her fingers would've been crushed by the door.

This was the first time Ian had rejected her so harshly.
