When Maxwell heard the news, he was visibly shocked. Was Maja married? But looking at Ian's face, he didn't appear to be joking. Maja had just graduated from university when she accepted his invitation to join his studio. Maxwell had never seen her being too intimate with any man in the past three years. How could she be married?

Seeing the surprise on Maxwell's face, Ian raised an eyebrow, "Let's get her upstairs first."

Maxwell nodded, carefully supporting Maja as they walked into the hospital lobby. Ian had only offered to help because they would be working together in the future.

On his way back to the Raymond Corporation, Ian received a call from his grandfather.

"Ian, have you seen Maja? Has she become even more beautiful?" His grandfather coughed twice after only a few sentences, gasping for breath. His health was obviously feeble, and he had not fully recovered.

"Grandpa, just rest in the nursing home. Don't worry about anything else."

"If you really don't need me to worry, then you should hurry up and have a baby. Maja is naturally shy and an artist. As a man, can't you be a bit more proactive?"

Ian frowned, wanting to know what nonsense that woman had been feeding his grandfather. He tried to argue, but he heard his grandfather coughing on the other end of the phone. Worried about offending his grandfather, he softened his tone, "I'll try my best."

His grandfather laughed happily, "I'll be back next month. I've been abroad for so long, I miss seeing familiar faces, especially Maja. You must protect her, don't let anyone bully her!"

Ian frowned. Before leaving, his grandfather said he would spend his twilight years abroad. But now, not even a year later, he planned to return. Originally, Ian planned to get divorced and slowly explain it to his grandfather. But if his grandfather was coming back next month, would he faint from anger if he suddenly heard the news of his divorce? Thinking about this possibility, Ian's face darkened, and his fingers clenched the steering wheel tightly. He couldn't divorce now. Not only could he not divorce, but he also needed to pretend that he and Maja had a good relationship. It looked like he needed to have a serious chat with Maja.

At the hospital, Maja woke up after receiving an injection to reduce her fever and getting an IV drip. She slowly opened her eyes and frowned at the unfamiliar surroundings. She tried to sit up but only made it halfway before nearly collapsing from exhaustion.

Maxwell had just returned with some water and quickly helped her, saying, "Don't move, your temperature was almost 104 degrees Fahrenheit."

Hearing Maxwell's familiar voice, Maja relaxed a little. But remembering what had happened before she passed out, she became anxious again. "Where's Mr. Raymond?"

Maxwell sighed and poured her a glass of water, "Actually, I wanted to ask you, how did you end up with him?"

Maja took the glass and wet her dry throat, "I didn't get a chance to tell you, but we won the Greenfield Gardens project, so we don't have to sell the studio."

Maxwell was taken aback before saying, "Thank you." Then he asked, "When did you get married?"

Maja was startled by the question and nearly choked on her water, "I've been married for three years. I'm sorry, I never mentioned it to you."

"That's your private life, I don't mind whether you tell me or not. But in these three years, I've never seen your husband pick you up from work. Even today when you fainted, he didn't show up. If Mr. Raymond hadn't mentioned it, I wouldn't have known you were married."

Maja was slightly embarrassed and had to explain again. "My husband is very busy with work."

"No matter how busy, he can't neglect you. Give me his number, I'll call him. The doctor said you need to stay in the hospital for two days. I have to go back to the studio, I can't leave you alone here."

"Maxwell, it's okay."

Maxwell and Maja were not only colleagues but also close friends. Seeing Maja resisting so much, he hesitated before finally asking, "Maja, tell me... is your husband good to you?" When the nurse had given Maja an injection earlier, he accidentally saw the bruises on her body. It looked like someone had pinched her.
