Maja received an anonymous message from Ian inviting her to meet at the Raymond Mansion. Was this an indication that he planned to discuss their divorce formally? She didn't think much of it, as divorce wasn't a significant concern.

After browsing through the works of various famous designers, Maja formulated a basic design in her mind and planned to revisit the house the following day. She drove to Ian's company, intending to inform him, as the owner, about her visit and address a few minor issues.

Upon arriving at the Raymond Corporation for the second time, the receptionist recognized her face and frowned upon seeing her. "Sorry, miss. For business matters, please contact our business department. If you wish to see Mr. Raymond, you need an appointment. Thank you for your cooperation."

Remembering the previous misunderstanding, Maja clarified, "I'm Mr. Raymond's interior designer, and I need to ask him a few questions. Could you please inform him? I only need ten minutes."

Seeing Maja's polite demeanor, the receptionist called Ian. After a minute, she hung up and directed Maja, "Please turn right. Mr. Raymond asked you to take the private elevator to the top floor."

As Maja approached the private elevator, the doors opened, and to her surprise, Selena stepped out. What was Selena doing at the Raymond Corporation? Before Maja could avoid her, Selena spotted her.

"Maja?"

Selena's eyes flickered with surprise, followed by anger. "What are you doing here? Are you trying to pester Ian? Didn't I make myself clear last time?"

Selena made an effort to remain composed, concealing her anger. "Maja, if you need money, I can help, but there's no chance for you and Ian to be together. I don't want things to end badly. You know Ian has always had someone he likes."

"Ms. Casson, I'm here solely for work," Maja replied, aware Selena doubted her intentions. Selena wasn't aware of Maja's company, assuming it was a small studio with no connections to the upper echelons of the Raymond family.

Selena frowned, her gaze sharp. "Did you exploit your status as the President's wife of the Raymond family again?"

Maja felt uncomfortable but answered honestly, "No, I told you I wouldn't pester Ian. If you don't believe me, Ms. Casson, you can call him directly. I haven't initiated any contact with him since his return."

Selena furrowed her brow and pointed to the private elevator behind her. "This elevator can only be used with Ian's permission. Were you about to enter?"

Maja realized the gravity of the situation. She hadn't anticipated encountering Selena at this time. "I wasn't aware that it was a private elevator. Could you please direct me to the staff elevator?"

Maintaining her composure, Maja nodded politely and walked in the direction Selena pointed. It was a relief when she entered the elevator. If Selena misunderstood her intentions toward Ian, given Selena's personality, she might cause trouble for the studio. Besides work, she needed to maintain her distance from Ian.

The elevator ascended directly to the top floor, and Maja was led to Ian's office by Jeff. Ian was on the phone, gesturing for her to sit on the nearby couch. Maja nodded, attempting to be discreet as she settled down.

Ian's tone grew slightly impatient as he spoke on the phone. "I've told you I haven't seen her. Mom, stop overthinking."

So it was Selena who called. She must have called to inquire about Maja's presence at the company.

The Pennyfeather family was clearly not giving up on the matter. The thought of being unable to divorce for a while made him uneasy.
