"I understand. Don't worry, I won't let her win," Ian stated firmly, indicating that he didn't want to dwell on Selena.

Aware of her son's avoidance, Selena knew that pushing him further wouldn't yield any productive results. However, considering the Pennyfeather family's current state and impending second round of financing, they wouldn't turn down the resources of the Raymond family. Divorcing at this point would be a challenging feat.

Ian hung up the phone, placing it gently on the table. "You have ten minutes. What do you want to ask?"

Unfazed by the call, Maja responded, "Mr. Raymond, what are your future plans? What are your partner's interests? Are they into reading or yoga? And how many children do you plan to have?"

These questions were essential for room layout, as the best way to design a space is to consider the owner's habits and preferences.

Ian was momentarily taken aback by these questions. A partner? A face flashed in his mind, but it didn't count as a partner. Children? He had never considered that question, nor did he think any woman would want to have his children. His gaze landed on Maja's face.

Maja froze, seemingly understanding his thoughts, and respectfully replied, "Mr. Raymond, don't worry. I have taken measures after that night. I won't get pregnant."

Jeff, who entered with coffee, almost spilled the tray upon hearing Maja's response. He managed to regain his composure and glanced at Maja. She exceeded his expectations. Most women would be thrilled by the sight of Ian's face, but Maja remained calm. It wasn't that she lacked shame; instead, she didn't find Ian attractive. Men have a peculiar sense of competition, and Ian wondered if his skills in bed needed improvement, causing her indifference.

Ian leaned back in his chair, remaining silent. Maja appeared oblivious to the unusual atmosphere. When Jeff brought the coffee, she politely thanked him, then turned to Ian.

"Mr. Raymond, you haven't answered my questions yet, which are crucial for my design process. It's important that we communicate on these matters."

"Ms. Penny, for now, you can reserve spaces accordingly. This thousand-square-foot house should have enough room for three kids to play, even if I have them in the future," Ian replied, alluding to his past plans with Carlene.

"Do you have any particular hobbies, Mr. Raymond?" Maja inquired.

Ian's eyes flickered briefly before he softly replied, "No."

As expected, he was rather dull.

Having completed her questions, Maja stood up, signaling that it was time for her to leave. "Could you provide me with the key? I need to go to the site for an inspection."

"It's a passcode lock, and the passcode is my birthday," Ian responded with an unwavering tone.

However, Maja didn't know Ian's birthday, and the online information could need to be more accurate. Her visible contemplation led to a heaviness in Ian's heart.

"Ms. Pennyfeather, didn't you even bother to learn basic information about your client before doing business?" Ian remarked, feeling a tinge of disappointment.

Maja's eyelashes twitched slightly as she replied, "I apologize, that was my mistake."
