The car door opened.

Selena was about to go and greet the person, but the young man stepping out from the car wasn't Ian, but his assistant, Jeff.-

"Mr. Ian has some last-minute stuff, so he can't make it home for dinner tonight. He asked me to bring you this gift."

When Selena had called Ian, she had only hoped that he would come home for dinner. She hadn't mentioned that Maja would be there too. He left his wife and headed overseas three years ago, and this time he probably would have outright refused to meet her.

Selena waved a servant over to take the bouquet from Jeff, her face showing a hint of disappointment. She sighed, "I know he's busy. It's okay, tell him to take care of himself."

Jeff nodded and got back in the car.

Returning to the living room and seeing Maja, Selena felt her mood sink further. She waved dismissively, "Just go. I'll call you when he's free."

"Okay."

Maja nodded, not bothered by the rejection. She hadn't gotten a good look at Jeff, and only caught a glimpse of a man's silhouette. But she knew it wasn't Ian.

Not seeing him today was no big deal. After all, the divorce agreement was already prepared.

She got back into her car. While waiting at a red light, Maja glanced at her work group chat.

It was off duty time, and the chat was buzzing.

"I heard Ian is coming back to get married? He just bought a new place, is he starting to decorate?"

"Our boss was Ian's high school classmate, do you think he can help us land this design project?"

"If we could design Ian's wedding house, we'd definitely make a killing! His net worth alone is enough to put him amongst the top few on the rich list. Being a top-tier international investor and coming from a wealthy family, it's an honor just to be able to talk to him..."

Other than a few insiders, basically no one knew that Ian was already married. Even the media hadn't reported on it.

Maja wasn't interested in the topic. She was about to drive off when she received a text from her boss, Maxwell.

[Come to Moonlight, there's a Mr. Elston who's interested in the villas you designed and wants to talk to you.]

Maja's career in interior design was unplanned. She was originally a painter, but in her freshman year, she designed a villa for a classmate on a whim. That villa caught the eye of a wealthy man who bought it for ten times the original price, making her an overnight sensation.

After that, she accepted an invitation from Maxwell, her schoolmate, to work part-time as an interior designer in his studio.

Why part-time? That was another story.

Upon seeing the text, she changed her destination.

Moonlight was a hotspot for the rich folks. Anyone who went in was loaded. When she arrived at the entrance, Maxwell sent another text.

[I can't come pick you up. The boss said to have his friend bring you in, so wait outside.]

Moonlight operated on a membership basis, and Maja wasn't a member. She had no choice but to wait for someone to fetch her.

At this moment, Ian received a call from Ryan, "Ian, I have a friend waiting outside, can you bring her in when you come? That way you two can meet."

Ryan looked at the design sketches in his hand, figuring Ian would like them, especially since construction on his house in Greenfield Gardens was about to start. His cousin had everything, so getting him something he wanted was a real gift.

"You'll like this gift."

Before Ian could respond, the music on the other end of the call suddenly got louder, and he couldn't hear what the other person was saying.

Ryan was one of the most famous rich kids. When it came to the gift Ryan mentioned, Ian certainly had to give it some thought.

After getting out of the car, he saw a woman standing conspicuously at the bar entrance. Was it her?

On closer inspection, he hadn't mistaken her. Just this morning, they had shared a bed.

Maja was about to call Maxwell again when she saw Ian approaching.

Ian stood out even in a place like Moonlight, filled with rich people. His physique and demeanor were exceptional. He was in a tailored black suit, his face impassive. He exuded a discreet and steady air as he walked.

Ian had been thinking about this woman leaving quite hastily this morning. Now it seemed like Ryan might have already paid her.

"Are you the person Ryan wants to introduce to me?"

Maja thought it was strange that Ian would talk to her voluntarily. When she heard him mention Ryan, she realized he must be the person Maxwell mentioned.

So, the boss's friend was Ian, and he wanted to introduce her to Ian? Was she really supposed to design his wedding house?

This struck Maja as funny. She hadn't even divorced him yet, and here she was, the soon-to-be ex-wife, being asked to design the wedding house for her soon-to-be ex-husband. What a world.

But she made her money through her skills, so if business came knocking, she certainly wouldn't refuse.

"Probably. Hello, Mr. Raymond."
