Maja had no clue about the mishap that had befallen the Elston family and was hastily making her way back to Greenfield.

Ian had to stay behind to discuss some beach development projects, so she had to go it alone.

She was a bit worried about RosenGarden, wondering if any sneaky thieves had broken in.

After hours of driving, she made a beeline for RosenGarden.

Coco was still snoozing in the house, with some pros coming by the past few days to look after it.

Maja did a quick sweep of the house, and once she was sure no one had broken in, she let out a sigh of relief.

She immediately went online and bought a few surveillance devices, one for the front door, one for the living room, and a few for other places, just to keep an eye on things.

The house didn't have any valuable stuff; the only thing of value was a birthday gift she had received earlier.

She had no idea what was tucked inside the blank notebook.

Frowning, she took the box and headed straight to Rosewood Manor.

But Rosewood Manor was buzzing with activity. Her stuff was being thrown out one by one.

Maria tried to stop them, but the bodyguards were being total jerks.

Seeing her come back, Maria rushed over.

"Ms. Pennyfeather, it's Grandma Edith's goons. They're trying to kick you out of Rosewood Manor."

Almost all of Maja's stuff had been thrown out, which wasn't much to begin with.

She walked into the house, saw the bodyguards still at it, and was pissed off.

"Stop!"

But the bodyguards paid her no mind, and Maria was all anxious.

"Ms. Pennyfeather, maybe I should call the old man."

But Maja didn't agree, instead asking, "Where are the Rosewood Manor bodyguards? Does only Grandma Edith have bodyguards?"

Maria quickly called over the bodyguards, but they didn't dare offend Grandma Edith's people.

Maja found a chair, sat down, and had Maria get the deed to the house.

"Rosewood Manor was given to me by Grandpa Holden as a premarital gift. Since when does our country allow a stranger to kick out the owner? Tell Grandma Edith, if she keeps this up, I won't hold back."

The bodyguards were taken aback by Maja's commanding presence, and seeing that Maja also had her own bodyguards, they had no choice but to beat it.

Meanwhile, over at Raymond Mansion, Carlene was having tea with Edith. Carlene was making a real effort to suck up to her, so she often came over these days.

"Edith, you said someone sent you a replica of that painting?"

Edith gave a cold laugh.

"It's that cunning wife of Ian's. She's leagues ahead of you."

Carlene put on a magnanimous face.

"Maybe she's in a hurry because Ian doesn't want to be with her. Now that you're back, Edith, she probably thinks she can win Ian over by sucking up to you."
