After Carol hung up, Felix stepped out of the doctor's office.

The doctor Carol brought in was a top international expert, whom she could only get through the Miller family connections.

The doctor had been busy all night, and everyone was still hustling.

Carol had already heard from the doctor that Listina had to have her surgery ASAP. It was a good thing this expert was the one doing the surgery; otherwise, if it was someone else, the success rate wouldn't be more than 30%. But with him, it could go up to 70%.

But Listina was scared, knowing there was still a chance of failure.

"Felix."

Carol quickly went to meet him, wanting to hug him.

But Felix stepped back, rubbing his forehead.

Carol nodded; seeing Felix's bleached jeans, her heart softened.

"Alright, I'll just sit here."

She sat on a chair in the corridor, watching Felix walk into the nearby ward.

Listina was sitting on the hospital bed; her eyes reddened instantly when she saw Felix come in.

"Felix."

She called out, feeling a bit dizzy.

Felix came over and poured her a glass of water.

"This doctor is an international expert. The success rate is high, Listina. You can't be reckless."

Listina clutched Felix's sleeve tightly, visibly scared.

"I'm just scared of dying. I want to be with you always."

Felix put the water cup in front of her, holding her hand.

"The doctor told me you’d be fine. If we keep delaying, he won't be able to help later. Listina, I want you to stay with me too."

Listina lowered her head, took a sip of water, and asked, "Who's that woman who came with you today?"

Felix's eyes didn't waver as he skillfully massaged her stiff leg.

"Just a friend. We met at a job."

Listina breathed a sigh of relief, a small smile curling up at the corner of her mouth.

"I'll consider it."

After Felix finished massaging her leg, he saw a few drops of water on her chin, immediately took the cup, and wiped her chin with a tissue.

Listina closed her eyes, signaling him to kiss her.

Felix instinctively glanced outside.
