Echoes of a Forsaken Heart novel Chapter 280

Natalia stared at the ring on her finger, still somewhat dazed.

She wasn't sure if saying 'yes' was the right decision.

Their issues hadn't been resolved yet.

Especially the attitude of the Fowler family, which had been all too clear tonight.

And then there was Eveleen.

But every time Hamilton asked her, she couldn't bear to say no.

Hamilton, wrapped in a towel, emerged from the bathroom.

Seeing Natalia lost in thought, he chuckled.

He hugged Natalia, pulling her into his embrace.

"Like it?"

Natalia nodded with a smile, as Hamilton playfully nibbled on her finger.

"Why do you look so worried? Having second thoughts?"

Looking at Hamilton, Natalia confessed, "Hamilton, this time I've really given myself to you completely. Please, don't leave me behind."

Hamilton's gaze deepened. After a long pause, he promised, "Natalia, no matter what happens, I won't leave you."

Natalia smiled and nodded, and Hamilton leaned in for a kiss.

Natalia pushed him gently away.

"Not tonight."

"Why?" Hamilton teased, pinching her waist. "Just got engaged and I'm already being denied?"

Natalia frowned, "I've been feeling a bit off all day, kind of like I'm about to start my period, but it's not quite that."

Hamilton raised an eyebrow, his hand resting on her abdomen.

"Does it hurt?"

Natalia shook her head. "It's bearable."

Hamilton wrapped his arms around her. "Let's book an appointment with the doctor in a few days, get you checked."

Natalia smiled, "Alright."

Feeling tired again, Natalia tried to rest, but Hamilton kept kissing her neck, clearly wanting more. But she just didn't have the energy tonight.

"Stop it, I'm really tired."

Hamilton sighed, "Alright, you sleep. I'll manage."

Natalia chuckled helplessly, "Give me a few days, okay?"

But Hamilton had already taken her hand.

"Natalia, please, I miss you so much."

Afterwards, though it was just with her hand, Natalia was exhausted to the point of trembling.

She kicked Hamilton lightly, who then cleaned her hand with a wet wipe before heading to the bathroom.

Meanwhile, at the Fowler Mansion, the birthday party had ended.

Westley sat in the living room, facing Magnus.

Magnus looked furious. "The Fowler grandson is too good for us Powells!"

Westley's face was stern. "Rest assured, if I say Eveleen will be part of the Fowler family, she will be. Hamilton's interest in that woman is just a passing phase."

Magnus snorted, "A passing phase that caused a scene at your birthday party. The Powells have lost face!"

Westley smiled. "Magnus, you know as well as I do that temporary embarrassment doesn't matter. What does is securing Eveleen's place in the Fowler family. And remember, the Powells aren't my only option."
