Serena’s cheeks turned red, “Mom.”
Alexander felt somewhat helpless. More than loving his daughter, his mother seemed to be trying to fulfill her own unachieved dreams through her.
Images of Quintessa filled Alexander’s mind. He had been trying to drown himself in work these past few days, numbing his feelings to forget her. He thought it had been effective, but seeing Quintessa today made all his efforts seem in vain.
He couldn’t forget her; he was still in love with her!
The car stopped at the doorway of the house.
Alexander said, “Mom, Serena, you go ahead inside. I’m heading back to the office.”
Serena pouted, “Brother, you work too hard. I haven’t seen you for days. Now that we’re at the doorstep; go in and rest a while before you leave.”
Alexander ruffled her hair, “I’ll be better in a few days. Go inside.”
After Alexander left, the mother and daughter entered the house.
Once inside, Serena bit her lip, “Mom, don’t you think when brother walked in today, he wasn’t looking at Ty but at Quinn?”
Mrs. Harrington handed her purse to the maid and elegantly adjusted her hair, “Serena, you are the daughter of the Harrington family, a lady of high status. Some people are just not worth considering as equals.”
Serena blinked, cautiously asking, “Mom are you talking about Quinn?”
