Serena stared blankly at Mrs. Harrington.
Mrs. Harrington’s smile was tender, as if the harsh words from moments ago hadn’t come from her at all. She gently touched Serena’s face. “Honey, tell Mom, do you like Tyrone?”
Snapped back to reality, Serena’s face instantly blushed. “Mom, what are you talking about?”
“There’s nothing to hide from me. Tell me.”
Serena waved her hands in denial. “Mom, no, besides, Ty already has Quinn by his side.”
Mrs. Harrington sighed deeply. “I wish you could stay innocent forever, but I’m also afraid of that.”
“Mom.”
“Serena, you just need to tell me if you like him. Don’t worry about all the other factors.”
Meanwhile, at the Young family, Sean had the household staff prepare a lavish lunch.
“Dad, why is this meal so lavish?” Miranda looked pale as a ghost, terribly thin. Since that incident, she had been like a shadow of herself, not daring to go out, her days filled with madness, rarely lucid as she was now.
Sean picked up his fork and said, “Your mom’s coming out soon.”
A flicker of joy crossed Miranda’s face. “Is this meal to celebrate mom getting out of jail? Dad, let’s go see mom. I miss her.”
Sean replied, “Hold on, finish our meal first.”
Miranda nodded eagerly. “Dad, after we eat, we’ll go pick up mom?”
Sean nodded. “Yes, after we eat.”
Miranda picked up her fork and started eating hurriedly. After a while, her movements slowed down.
With a clatter, the fork dropped from her hand. Miranda swayed, unable to sit straight. “Dad, I feel so dizzy! Dad.”
