Tyrone cleared his throat, “Look, it’s for your own good, so you don’t get taken advantage of without even realizing. Man, I’m swamped every day, and I still manage to bring you food. Be grateful.”
Worried Quintessa might hold him accountable, he grabbed his jacket, “There’s a bunch of people waiting for me at the company. I won’t teach you a lesson today, but I’ll be back tonight.”
Quintessa rolled her eyes just as Tyrone opened the door, bumping into Violet who was about to knock.
Violet froze, “Mr. York?”
Tyrone lifted his chin, “Ahem. Just dropping by to check on my employee.”
Violet watched Tyrone leave with wide eyes, her plump figure nearly rolling into the room after him.
“Quinn, the boss said he was just checking on his employee?”
Quintessa nodded, “Yeah, to bring some warmth and check on employees.”
“What warmth?”
“Breakfast.”
Violet spotted the half-eaten box of ribs on the desk and reached for it, but Quintessa quickly snatched it away.
She complained, “We’re all employees, but the treatment, it’s really unfair. At least let me have a bite.”
Quintessa fished out a few coins and handed them to Violet, “It’s hot out, go buy yourself an ice pop. You’ve gotten quite chubby, enough with the meat.”
Holding the coins, Violet retorted angrily, “You’re an actress, how can you indulge in meat like this?”
“Somebody told me yesterday, girls shouldn’t think being thin is beauty. Being healthy is what’s really important.”
Quintessa grabbed her bag and dragged Violet out.
“Who told you that?”
