Every Breath You Take novel Chapter 45

Roland had been very happy to get the city construction project recently. He would have gone to a nightclub to celebrate. But since he knew Monica's identity, he had lost his desire to celebrate. He only stayed in his apartment, which made Beck feel very strange.

Mr. Wang had changed so much recently that he didn't even go to the night club to have fun. At first, Beck thought that Roland just wanted to keep his energy up, but after a few days, he knew that something he didn't know must have happened. As the special assistant appointed by Old Mr. Wang to Roland, he naturally had to pay attention to every move of Roland, so he just wanted to figure out why he changed.

However, no matter how hard he tried, there was no way for him to figure it out. When Roland was working, he was vigorous, but when he got off work, he became spiritless.

Roland didn't know why, either. He felt that he seemed to have a strange disease. When it came to working, he became happy. When he got off work, he was exhausted.

Did he get a work disease? But he had never heard of such a disease. Beck finally understood the reason when Monica asked for leave for three days.

Mr. Wang was in low spirits all day long and kept calling Monica. Beck reminded him several times that Monica had asked for a leave, but he just couldn't remember it.

Roland left the company in a hurry before it was time to leave, and drove to the small apartment where Monica lived.

However, he didn't see Monica until it was dark outside. Her phone was turned off. He couldn't help knocking on the door, but it was Xanjer who opened the door. When he saw Roland, he was shocked. "Mr. Wang, why are you here?"

"Where's Monica?" Roland looked around the room, but he still didn't see her. His face suddenly darkened. "Why can't I get her on the phone?"

"What's the matter, Mr. Wang?" Xanjer saw that he did not look happy, so he thought that he might have something urgent.

"Of course it's an urgent matter. I can't tell you." Roland explained. "Where's she?"
