Every Breath You Take novel Chapter 70

From the man's self-introduction, Monica knew that he had something she was familiar with, so she had asked him one more question. She was very satisfied with his answer.

Love at first sight was not love but passion. True love was something that happened over time. If it were in the past, she would not think so. But after all this, she couldn't agree with it more.

The marriage between her and Quarmy failed that badly because it was too good, too fairy-tale and so neglectful of humanity.

She controlled herself and asked, "Do you hate your ex-wife?"

"Once!" Evan answered.

"Now you don't hate her anymore?"

"Yes! I don't hate her anymore. People have to look forward. I can't be immersed in hatred and memories all my life, so I moved on." Evan answered very calmly. "In fact, I am very grateful to her now. I thank her for once loving me and making my life so much richer."

People had to look forward and couldn't live in the past for the rest of their lives. Monica knew it, but she still couldn't move on even though she had been hiding for three years. She still hated Quarmy and couldn't stay calm when she faced him.

It could prove that Evan was not a narrow-minded person. Of course, the reason she liked him the most wasn't just because his experience was similar to her own.

She liked him because he subconsciously protected her when he was in danger. When people were in danger, they became selfish. Monica believed that in that case, his choice was sincere. In addition, they were all people who had experienced the same hardships. She believed that people who had something in common could communicate better to avoid harm. So far the best man on stage for her was Evan.
