Skylar signed the contract and handed it to Valerie.
“I look forward to working with you. You work hard and I promise you won’t regret it,” Valerie said as she held her hand out.
With a handshake, Skylar and Valerie sealed the deal.
At last, Skylar felt more secure now.
In the lobby of the company, she saw that Kate was looking around. It looked as though she was waiting for someone, so Skylar went ahead and greeted her.
After the two met up, they sat down on a sofa in the lobby.
“I just signed the contract with Royal Entertainment. From today onward, I’m officially your manager,” Kate announced.
“Didn’t you say both parties weren’t able to come to an agreement back then?”
“That’s back then.” Kate smiled. “We’re talking about the present right now. Once the money issue was settled, everything just fell into place nicely.”
Skylar really liked how straightforward Kate was. She was really ambitious and full confidence in herself. It doesn’t seem like she’s married. Married women usually don’t have that shine in their eyes.
During their conversation, Skylar’s phone kept on ringing. No matter how many times she denied the call, the phone call kept coming back.
After repeating that a couple of times, Skylar finally decided to pick up. “I’m busy right now. I’ll call you later, okay?”
The way she treated Miranda was a little harsh as she was really blunt with her.
On the other end of the line, it was like Miranda did not even hear Skylar. Her daughter’s words were just wind by the ears to her.
Before the call ended, Miranda told Skylar to meetup at Wesley’s place that night. They were having a family gathering.
However, to Skylar, family felt like such an unfamiliar and distant notion.
When her grandmother was still alive, she really hated it when all the relatives came over for a meal during any festivities.
