Fell Into His Love Trap novel Chapter 743

Miranda personally cooked a table full of dishes. All of the dishes were visually appealing, fragrant, and delicious. They looked just as enticing as the ones served in restaurants.

She removed her apron. Her face was flushed from the heat of the stove, making her complexion look even better.

She asked Tobias about what had happened last night, somewhat disappointed when Tobias didn't come upstairs to pay her a visit.

That had been her chance to impress all her relatives. Even the old, run-down house would have shone brightly because of that.

Tobias chose not to answer. He was indifferent toward Miranda, yet he still showed her respect as she was older than him.

He still respected Miranda much even though she had never acted like an elder.

Miranda's smile faded when she saw Tobias remain silent. She was fully aware of the situation in her heart.

Tobias had always looked down on her family, including all her relatives and even herself.

Miranda had cooked Skylar's favorite pot roast. She had learned about it during a conversation with her former neighbor.

Skylar's grandmother, Meredith, had lived frugally, relying on a meager monthly pension to support both herself and Skylar.

Whenever these thoughts crossed Miranda's mind, her heart would wrench in pain. She regretted giving up everything for love and believed that her self-imposed imprisonment could make Thomas feel guilty toward her.

It wasn't until she went through those experiences that she came to know that men are heartless. No matter how much she sacrificed, it amounted to nothing in return.

Pot roast was Skylar's favorite dish. However, since there was usually not much meat available at home, she mostly had cabbage and potato stew.

Miranda gazed at Skylar with pain and said, “You should eat more. Look at you. You're as thin as a rake. Women look better with a little more weight. Don't you agree, Tobias?”

Tobias chuckled and replied, “Being too fat is also not good. It makes a person look sloppy and foolish.”
