Skylar felt somewhat awkward after hearing Madelyn's words. I'm staying with Tobias even though we are not married. Technically, we are staying together illegally. If that's the case, does that mean I'm shameless too?

She advised Madelyn, “Hey, you better not fret about this. It's a good thing that they are not in debt. They can work hard to get their house soon. Look on the bright side. If her boyfriend is a fine young man that works hard, it's great news!”

Madelyn spoke. “It's not the same. Skylar, this might be hard for you to digest, but if Mr. Ford hadn’t been rich, would you be willing to be with him now? The age gap between you is vast. Of course, you will find a younger man, right? You're smart. You know you should look for a capable man. Mr. Ford treats you so kindly. He always purchases new and expensive bags for you that worth more than one year of my salary. Meanwhile, my daughter's boyfriend has to compare the discounts the delivery company offers when they order food. He can't compare to Mr. Ford!”

It occurred to Skylar that she had never thought about the possibility mentioned by Madelyn before. So, would I still be with Tobias had he been not rich? I can't imagine him not being wealthy, though.

Skylar called Tobias while she was on the way to work. She wanted to find out when he was coming back.

Tobias didn't answer the phone. However, after three continuous calls, Susan picked up.

Susan didn't even have to look at the caller ID to recognize Skylar's voice from the other end of the phone. Under normal circumstances, she wouldn't be willing to pick up the phone, but she knew she had to treat Skylar differently.

Susan explained, “Mr. Ford is in a meeting, and he left his phone with me. He will end his meeting in about an hour or so.”

Newcove was Tobias' destination. He arrived there around ten in the morning and was in the conference room now.

Skylar had no idea what time it was when Tobias left. He was careful not to disturb her sleep by making light movements without turning on the lights when he walked out.

News began to spread internally about Saorise being chosen as the spokesperson of Royale Entertainment City, and many were envious because of this. The commercial plaza had decided to give her the endorsement deal. Many staff speculated that Saorise was the future wife of their CEO when they combined this piece of news with the fact that the endorsement for the entertainment center belonged to Saorise too.

Milania was overjoyed. She regretted her decision to join Royal Entertainment this late in the game.

Kate ran into Milania while they waited for the elevator. Not only did their relationship not improve after all these years, it even worsened to the point of no return.

Milania crossed her arms smugly as she stared at Kate. “You used to be so popular with many celebrities working underneath you. What about now? You can't even find a worthy one to mention before me now.”

Kate smirked. “You don't need to worry about me. I guess Saorise is the only one you can be proud of currently, so why are you so smug?”

The elevator arrived then, and Kate stepped into it. Meanwhile, Skylar was waiting for Kate at the latter's office. Even though nobody was inside the office, and the door was unlocked, Skylar was unwilling to remain without anyone to accompany her because she had traumatic experiences when she was young. After Miranda got imprisoned, Skylar's life turned worse. Whenever someone's stuff went missing while she was in school, the teacher would look at her like she was the culprit.

Kate invited Skylar into the office when she arrived. She was still frustrated by the smugness Milania had displayed earlier. Argh! How arrogant she is because she has Saorise!
