Xavier instructed Zachary, "There's a two-year-old outside, could you rustle up some grub for the kiddo?"

"Sure, no problem!"

Zachary seemed to have put on some weight, his face had lost its previous roughness and become much friendlier.

Xavier turned to Estelle, "Let's chat over there."

Knowing there was a small yard behind the kitchen, Estelle followed Xavier towards it.

The yard was the same as before, but now it was tidy and organized. Roses were planted all around the iron railing. They were in full bloom, filling the air with their fragrance.

A sweet osmanthus tree was planted on the left wall, only as thick as an arm, but it was thriving.

Estelle looked around and chuckled, "Did Norah plant all these?"

Xavier sat down on a chair, his voice hoarse but powerful, "Who else? It's all stuff that girl loves."

Estelle turned and asked, "Has Norah been working here all these years? Does Jonathan know she's here?"

Xavier lit a cigarette, and slowly replied, "She only started coming here last year. She helps out on weekends. Jonathan probably knows, but he hasn't stopped her."

"Hmm." Estelle nodded, suddenly her face changed and she instinctively took a step back.

A dog, half the height of a human, came from the corner of the wall, staring at Estelle warily.
