Find Me In Your Labyrinth novel Chapter 1099

Estelle shook her head, "Nah, go on."

Marina took another big gulp of her drink, "Back then, I loved him so much, it was like I lost my mind, totally drowned in my feelings for him.

"A year into our relationship, he bumped into his first love from college. She was gentle, caring, knew how to play the damsel in distress, totally different from me who was always trying to adapt to him.

"Her light bulb was out in the middle of the night and he rushed over to fix it; she was sick in the middle of the night, called him and he braved the heavy rain to bring her medicine; she said she made soup for him, and he excitedly went over to her place, completely forgot about our date."

"I noticed he was getting more and more dismissive of me, losing patience, but I still didn't want to give up, gave him chances after chances, listened to his explanations, until they lost control and I caught them in the act, that was the end of it.

"He cheated on me, but he blamed me, said I had no taste, not attractive, too boring and conservative.

"I was shocked, I wasn't fond of wearing those ladylike sets and high heels, I wore them because he liked them. I didn't want to live together before marriage, so he used to praise me for being self-respecting, but now he said I was boring and conservative.

"I couldn't accept how he treated me, and after we broke up, I couldn't sleep every night. But within a few days, he was with his first love!"

Marina took a deep breath, and another sip of her drink, "I was the biggest fool in the world!"

Estelle frowned, "What about you and Mr. Foster?"

"It was arranged by my mom. She saw how miserable I was and took the initiative to arrange the engagement with the Foster family, just as Carson was also being forced to get engaged because of Cicely, so we ended up together."

"And now?" Under the firelight, Estelle's eyes were clear, asking curiously.
