Find Me In Your Labyrinth novel Chapter 1158

Later on, Emily followed Tracy into the meeting room, and the real deal began.

During the meeting, the big guns enthusiastically discussed the pros and cons of the acquisition deal, each offering their own solutions.

Emily sat next to Tracy, her head bowed as she took notes, her pen flying across the paper.

Charlie had been staring at her profile for more than five seconds. Today, she was dressed in a white blouse and black trousers. She looked professional, but her profile was super cute.

She was slim, but her cheeks were so chubby!

"Mr. James, what do you think of the conditions proposed by the Cooper Group?" a senior leader asked.

Hearing someone address Charlie, Emily instinctively looked up, locking eyes with him.

Charlie calmly shifted his gaze and murmured, "There's some internal strife in the Cooper Family. Some folks don't want the Cooper Group to be snapped up by the James family so easily, so they're making it difficult on purpose."

Everyone else nodded, signaling they understood the point.

The meeting wrapped up after two hours, and then Charlie had a chat with the deputy manager about God knows what. When Emily went in to serve coffee, the deputy manager looked over and chuckled, "Got a new kid on the block?"

"Hello, Mr. Gavin!" Emily had already checked the bios of the bigwigs at the meeting. She knew this deputy manager was called Gavin, and another guy called Gary was Charlie's right-hand man.

"You're a looker; no wonder Mr. James took a shine to you. You got assigned to the 39th floor as soon as you arrived." Gavin joked.

Charlie shot him a look and chuckled, saying, "If you're jealous, I can assign you an assistant to share the workload."

Gavin immediately waved it off: "Nah, that's not sharing the workload; that's getting someone to keep tabs on me."

Emily handed Charlie her meeting notes, then respectfully exited.

Charlie looked over the notes, surprise flickering in his eyes. Emily's notes were well organized; nothing was left out, and she'd even summed up each person's speech.
