"Uh huh!" Kya replied obediently, phone in hand as she darted out of the room.

She was less than a meter tall, standing on her tiptoes to reach the door knob. It took her a couple of tries to open it. She then scanned the crowded room, immediately spotting Emily and running towards her.

Emily was pouring water for Martin when she spotted Kya. She smiled and asked, "Where have you been?"

Kya held up the phone, "Mom, Uncle Charlie's looking for you!"

Emily glanced at the phone, obviously on a call, and froze. Water spilled, almost scalding her.

Martin quickly took over the teapot, asking with concern, "Are you okay? Did it burn you?"

"I'm fine!" Emily quickly assured him.

Charlie on the other end of the phone heard everything clearly, growling out, "Emily!"

The room suddenly quieted as everyone looked at the phone in Kya's hand.

Emily's face turned red and she quickly took the phone and explained, "It's my boss, he needs me. I'm going to take this call."

With that, she rushed into her bedroom, phone in hand.

Gina quickly reassured the Ferber family, "Emily is a world-renowned school graduate, her boss values her a lot. It must be something important!"

Despite the strange male voice on the phone, the Ferber family continued to heap praises, "Emily is really outstanding, both her family and career are great!"

"Elliott is also very outstanding, how did you raise such great children?"

"Oh, I heard Elliott's father works out of town, what does he do?"

Gina was all smiles with the compliments, but when they asked about Shawn Sullivan, her smile froze. She replied, "He's a chef, in a five-star hotel!"
