Find Me In Your Labyrinth novel Chapter 1267

"Alright."

Emily hung up the phone, feeling irritated. What the hell was the Ferber Family up to by getting involved with Martin?

Yep, claiming Martin as her boyfriend from the get-go was a blunder, a lie that had brought nothing but a whole mess of trouble.

Emily brushed back her unruly hair and sighed in frustration.

She texted the address to Martin, glanced at the time, and waited for his call.

At half-past four, Emily tidied up her stuff and was ready to clock out. Just as she was heading to the elevator, she heard Waters calling from behind, "Ms. Sullivan!"

Emily turned around to see Charlie and Waters strolling towards her, looking like they were off on a date.

Charlie's gaze was still as cold and detached as ever.

"Off work? Where are you headed? Need a ride?" Waters seemed to be in high spirits, unusually friendly.

"No, thanks!" Emily didn't even want to share an elevator ride with them.

Waters, arm in arm with Charlie, smirked, "Your assistant is quite the character."

Charlie shot a glance at Emily Sullivan, his lips curling into a half-smile, "What's so interesting about her?"

Waters gave a knowing grin but didn't spill any beans in front of Emily.

The elevator doors slid open, and Waters and Charlie stepped in. Seeing Emily standing outside, they called out cheerfully, "Come on in, don't be shy, Mr. James is a good guy!"

Emily caught Charlie's eye, quickly looked down, and entered the elevator.

She moved to the back, keeping a safe distance.

Waters, still holding onto Charlie's arm, whispered, "A friend of mine just opened a bar and has been bugging me to drop by. How about we go there after dinner tonight?"

Charlie gave a casual smile, "We'll see after dinner."

"Got other plans?" Waters asked.
