Find Me In Your Labyrinth novel Chapter 1348

"Really? That's a bigshot company!" one relative exclaimed with a laugh. "Kenny has snagged such a great boyfriend; she better hold onto him tight! When's the wedding?"

"They're renovating their house right now, and the property rights have Kenny's name on them too!" Linda proudly revealed it with a grin. "Actually, we're thinking of buying Kenny a new house as well. This way, they can be more at ease in the future. Kenny's already married, after all. I can't let her life quality drop a notch!"

Everyone chimed in with compliments.

Out of the blue, Kenny turned to Emily and said with a laugh, "Emily, my house is almost ready. I'll take you to check it out when you're free."

"Yes, take Emily along!" Linda chimed in instantly. "Emily, Kenny's house is huge, about 120 square meters with three bedrooms. It's in a great location, too. You should definitely go see it. You two have been close since childhood;, you should hang out more."

Emily could tell Linda was showing off, but she kept a straight face. "Sure, I'll go when I have time."

But Linda wasn't satisfied. She deliberately asked in front of the relatives, "Emily, where are you living now? Do you own a house or are you renting?"

"I rent my place," Emily replied calmly.

"Renting is such a hassle; landlords can be tough," Linda frowned. "You should strive to buy your own place. If worst comes to worst, you could work at Kenny's company. Work hard for a while, and you'll be able to afford a house."

Emily coolly responded, "You don't need to worry about me; I'm doing just fine."

Gina stayed silent, her face stiff.

Linda continued, "You know, as a girl, you don't need to work too hard. Getting married might be the easier option. Raising a child alone, no matter how much you make, it might not be enough."

The relatives watched the scene unfold, their eyes darting back and forth between Emily and Linda.

Emily resisted the urge to argue with Linda. For one, it was Elliott's wedding day; she couldn't stir up drama. Second, she had no interest in arguing with others in front of Kya.

Emily didn't care about what others thought of her, but she didn't want people to gossip about Kya. She stood up and said, "You guys chat; I'll take Kya out for a bit."
