Find Me In Your Labyrinth novel Chapter 1423

"I got it, I got it!" Mr. Jarvis chuckled sweetly.

Dr. Ollie said with a grin, "I'm off to brew some medicine. You can drink it by dawn, Mr. Jarvis. If you feel up to it, you can chat with the young lady a bit. If you're tired, you can catch some more z's."

"No need for that bitter brew; I'm already awake." Mr. Jarvis crinkled his brow at the mention of medicine.

"Grandpa, you've got to listen!" Estelle looked at him sternly.

Mr. Jarvis sighed helplessly, "Then at least sweeten the pot a bit for me, will ya?"

"Well, alright, I'll add some sugar." Dr. Ollie agreed this time around.

With that, he left the room in high spirits.

Mr. Jarvis seemed to be in good shape, so he chit-chatted with Estelle for a while longer.

Wade, noticing the break of dawn, reminded Estelle, "Miss, Mr. Lamont is still waiting for you outside!"

Estelle felt a pang of worry, afraid that hearing about Jonathan would upset Mr. Jarvis and worsen his health. She quickly reassured him, "I didn't invite him over; he came on his own."

Mr. Jarvis and Wade exchanged knowing glances, then chuckled, "Still trying to pull the wool over my eyes, huh?"

"Grandpa?" Estelle bit her lip.

"Over the past two years when you were away, Jonathan kept me company every Christmas," Mr. Jarvis began. "I didn't take a shine to him at first, but he stuck around until the Christmas was over. By the time I let him leave, our relationship wasn't as rocky as you might think."

Estelle's eyes widened. "You mean he? He is?"

"Yeah!" Wade chimed in, grinning. "Every Christmas's Eve, Mr. Lamont would come over and have dinner with Mr. Jarvis. In the following days, he'd stick around to fish, play chess, and take walks. They've got a pretty tight bond!"

Estelle looked incredulous. "But when I video called you during the Christmas, I never once saw him?"

"I intentionally kept him out of sight; how could you have seen him?" Mr. Jarvis chuckled softly. "I wanted to see how sincere he was and if he was worth entrusting you with again."
